Heritage Seminar. The Heritage Seminar is part of Design Week in association with BOMBAY SAPPHIRE.
A creative workshop and seminar day that seeks to define: 'What is contemporary Irish design?'
Members of the IFDN and a shortlist of selected outstanding creatives from the contemporary design profession get together to explore, express and develop the brief for the 'Heritage Project', a project that seeks to create a collection of furniture/objects that reflect and define Irish culture through the medium of contemporary design.
The project kicked off early this year with a research seminar, and the Design Week workshop is the first in a series of events leading to a proposed show of selected pieces in the National Museum in 2011.
The output from this workshop will be displayed as part of the IFDN show (please see event listed).
