Wunderkammer: Cabinet of Curiosities - Contemporary Responses to a Historic
Collection. Wunderkammer: Cabinet of Curiosities - Contemporary Responses to a Historic
Collection is part of Design Week in association with BOMBAY SAPPHIRE.
Drawing on the rich subject matter of the Albert M. Bender Collection of Asian
Art in the National Museum of Ireland, makers in Dublin's iconic Design Tower
have created a contemporary cabinet of curiosities. With work across a variety
of disciplines, including ceramics, textiles and metalwork, each maker has
evolved a personal response to the collection of artefacts of Chinese, Japanese
and Tibetan origin.
